Imagine your studies suddenly have to stop. Because war breaks out. Because you have to flee your country. Because the financial support you were counting on falls away. For students who have had to leave everything behind, a single scholarship can make the difference between stopping and continuing.

That is what Fonds Studie zonder Grenzen (Study Without Borders Fund), part of the UvA Fund, has been making possible for ten years now for UvA students and researchers with a refugee background. Anastasiia's scholarship made it possible for her to take part in the honours programme, Adem was able to do research at the UvA thanks to his scholarship. With access to the library and archives, and by purchasing the laptop and books he needed for it. Yomna was able to complete her final year of study thanks to her scholarship.

This Alumni Week, we want to make that difference again, for two new students. Our goal: €5,000 for two scholarships.
